Faringdon Town host Bourton Rovers at Tucker Park. Reserves away v Watlington Town and the A-Team travel to Hanney.
Faringdon Town are back at Tucker Park, after two disappointing midweek defeats to local teams Clanfield Res and Highworth Town Res. The defeats have meant the Don have slipped to 7th place in the division. Forth placed Bourton Rovers are the visitors for a 3 pm KO. Rovers beat Carterton 5-2 last week.
Christian Wills scored in Towns defeat to 2-1 Clanfield Res on Wednesday, while James Taylor got 2 in a 3-2 defeat to Highworth Town Res in the previous game.
Joshua Field is the one to watch in front of goal for Bourton, he’s potted 17 times in 16 appearances, Adam Webley is not far behind on 13. Bourton average over 3 goals a match this season, so it could be a tough afternoon for the Don on current form. This will be the first meeting of the 2 teams this season and Town always raise their game against higher placed teams, so this could be a decent watch for the Faringdon faithful.
Faringdon Town Reserves are back in league action when they take on Watlington Town, again this will be the first meeting for the teams this season. The Ressers lost to table-topping Blewbury last week in the War Memorial Cup, final score 5-2, Glenn Townsend and James Tranter with the goals.
Faringdon Town A-Team were the only victors last week when they beat Berinsfield Res 7-5 in a lively encounter at Tucker Park. Jason Evans netted 6 of them with James Tyler getting the other. The A’s take on Hanney 66 Club this week, the teams sit in 5th and 6th in the league, both on 25 points, so this looks likely to be another close run battle for Dan Pugh’s team.
