Faringdon Town – Weekend Preview –
With the First Team not having played since the middle of December, they will be hoping that their game away to Hook Norton Reserves will be on! Faringdon’s previously 2 scheduled games verses Moreton and Brimscombe & Thrupp were postponed due to frost and a waterlogged pitch. Town currently sit a couple of positions higher than Hook, with 14pts to Hook’s 7. Hook have leaked goals regularly this season, conceding 57 in their 14 league and cup games. The home team have played 2 games so far in 2017, losing to Moreton 6-3 in the cup, and Fairford 3-0 in the league. They’ve found goals have been hard to come by, but Charles Hill does have 2 from 2 starts. The Dons squad are itching to get some game time in. (away 3pm KO)
No Reserve Team fixture.
The A-Team are in action this week, with a home game verses Hanney 66 Club. Hanney have 2 points more than the As after both playing 14 games, so 3 points for the Don would see them take 4th place from the visitors. Hanney have shipped 60 goals in 17 league and cup games, while bagging 44 for themselves. Last week they lost 3-2 to Marcham Res. Their top scorer is Luke Ulyatt with 13 from 8 starts, so the Dons defence will have to be sharp to keep him out. The A-Team drew 4-4 last week against 10 man Sutton Courtenay Res. The match report can be found here. The A’s have shared their goals about this season, with 14 different scores in 15 league and cup games. (home 2.30pm KO)
