It was only the senior sides in action at the weekend, due to the half term break for the youths and with 2 wins and a defeat, the performances were encouraging.
The 1st Team traveled to Crowmarsh Gifford in NBFL Division 1, with both sides level on 3 points prior to kick off, however the home side had only tasted league defeat in four previous fixtures. Town put in an encouraging performance and scored with well taken goals from Rich Evans and Dan Bradbury, but succumbed to a late penalty, which saw the home side triumph 3-2.
The Reserves welcomed Burghclere Reserves in the 2nd Round of the AG Kingham Cup, hoping to put a cup run together. Town started positively and scored within 20 minutes from a Dan Oyston header, however the visitors had a lions share of the next hour of play, equalising, hitting the post and missing a penalty. However, Town’s quality showed in the end with Oyston collecting a hat-trick and a 3-1 Town victory.
A young A Team welcomed basement side Harbourne United to Tucker Park, looking to create daylight in the table and continue their form of 2 wins from three previous fixtures. The A’s did disappoint with Jason Evans grabbing a brace, Li-am Farmer adding to his impressive start to the season and 16 year old Leon Redwood-Hanson scoring a screamer, to finish with a 4-1 win.
