Following the retained list yesterday and those who have chosen to leave, we are excited to announce our new signings for season 2024/2025.
- Matt Lavers – 27 year old centre midfielder who made 22 league appearances for Kintbury Rangers Devs last season, scoring 1 goal. Tall imposing player with a good touch and engine. Previous club Kintbury Rangers.
- Christian Shannon – About to move to the area from Surrey and contacted the club regarding pre-season. 26 year old full back who can cover both sides of the pitch, looks a solid addition. Previous clubs Worplesdon Phoenix, Merrow FC and West End Village FC.
- Ethan Thompson – 18 year old goalkeeper, who joined the Devs last season whilst dual signed with local Hellenic League side Clanfield (85) FC. Impressed the club with his attitude and performances, claiming Devs Player of the Year and the clubs Young Player of the Year. Committed to The Don for season 2024/2025 and looking to gain experience and put pressure on Gibbo for the No. 1 shirt. Previous clubs Forest Green Rovers and Clanfield (85) FC.
- Maximus Wills – Max joined us in pre-season and has been a breathe of fresh air. The 22 year old midfielder has shown some nice touches in the friendlies and fitted into the squad seamlessly on and off the field. Previous club, Stratton Juniors where he made 19 league appearances and scored 3 goals last term.
- Matthew Bibby – Another lad young lad (21 years old) who joined us in pre-season and with his partner in crime Max, have found The Don way. An elegant midfielder who glides past players and technically gifted. Previous club, Stratton Juniors making 22 league appearances and notching 1 goal.
- Owen Edwards-Hilton – Young centre-back (19 years old) who has been brought in to add some strength in depth to the centre back position. Quick across the ground and comfortable on the ball. Previously played for Abingdon United Devs, but work curtailed his appearances, but a new job means he can commit to The Don.
- Daniel Loyden – Came to the club through his Sunday League connections and has proven to be a fans favorite in a short period of time. Can play on either wing , direct and quick. We have a lot of excitement for this 27 year old’s first season in Wiltshire Senior League football.
- Charlie Lawrence – A product of our youth system (played for Wes & Pilly), who was snapped up by Swindon Town and went through their youth academy, before being released, this whilst being a GK. Has had a year at Uni and has reinvented himself into a full-back! Tall, athletic, quick and raw, the ladies will love him!. Will not always be available due to Uni life, but will no doubt get some valuable game time during the season. Still only 19 years old.
- Josh Lewis – Joined late to pre-season training, but this 21 year old has previous Hellenic League experience and has impressed the management with his attitude and technical ability. Can cover fullback and midfield. Previous clubs, New College, Cirencester Town, Clanfield (85) FC.
- Andrew Goodchild – Goody has rejoined the club after a couple of seasons away with Nationwide FC in the Swindon & District League. Equally at home as a centre back or striker, Goody will add some experience to the matchday squad. Good to have him back. Previous Clubs: Nationwide FC, Letcombe FC.
We are sure The Don faithful will welcome all of the lads and it’s great to see a fresh impetus of young talented footballers who can see that as a club we have great facilities, an exciting new management team and an opportunity to grow into STEP 7 football.
