Match Report Faringdon Town vs Easington Sports Res

Town welcomed struggling Easington Sports to Tucker Park looking to end their run of no wins in seven. We spoke before the game about asserting our authority over a team which we enjoyed a comfortable win early on in the Season.
With the rain coming down and the pitch being wet, we spoke about the importance of passing the ball well, remaining patient and taking our chances when they came.
Town started the game quickly, moving the ball well and putting the visitors under pressure which led to some early half-chances.
On five minutes Town broke the deadlock. An in swinging corner from the left from Ryan Bradbury was met by James Tranter (Striker for the day) who flicked his header passed the keeper.
We knew we had to go again, as letting leads slip has been our downfall in recent weeks. We were playing some good stuff, moving the ball in midfield between Matty Pill, Will Bazen and Tommy James with full backs George Hegg and Ross Packham providing good outlets. The second goal came on eleven minutes – Josh Forth wins a big header from the visitor’s goal kick. The ball breaks to Matty Pill who puts a quality through ball into Ryan Bradbury who slides in ahead of the keeper to make it 2-0.
Some more good football leads to further chances before half-time. James Tranter saw a header go just over the bar and Josh Forth was pulled down in the box with the Referee waiving away his protests.
At half-time we emphasised the importance of getting the next goal and not letting our opponents in. With the pitch beginning to cut up in the middle of the park, we had to use our wide players to continue to create chances.
Ten minutes into the second half and Town put the game to bed. A carbon copy of the first goal with Ryan Bradbury putting another corner in from the left and James Tranter again getting across his marker at the near post to head home. 3-0
With the game looking safe, Town made some changes and introduced substitutes Daz Sawala, Liam Humphries and Jordan Wilkins with 25 minutes to go. On 75 minutes a Liam Humphries corner from the left was met with dominance by Josh Forth, who headed home to make it 4-0.
The visitors were struggling to create any real chances, Keeper Justin Yates gifted the opposition striker with the best chance after driving a goal kick straight to his feet – only to pull off a top save when really the striker should have scored.
There was time for Town to get one more goal on 85 minutes. A good tackle from Daz Salawa put Christian Wills away down the right hand side who drilled in a cross which substitute Jordan Wilkins dispatches excellently. 5-0.

A superb team performance all round. Looked comfortable on the ball and played some really good football, looked dangerous going forwards especially with our wide players on good form. Our midfield lads are starting to click now so we are expecting similar from them in games to come. Defensively we looked solid.
Hopefully we can build on this performance and take it into a tough set of fixtures. Hard to choose man of the match as everyone had a shout for it, great effort gents.
