Match Report – Faringdon Town U12 Blue v Radley FC U12

Faringdon Town Blues 2 (1) v Radley FC 0 (0)

The Blues set out their stall this morning against Radley by working together as a team and backing each other up with every tackle. After having an early attempt scrambled off the goal line, Josh D took control of a busy goal mouth and buried the ball in the back of the net.  Shortly after Radley came back strongly only for Fraser Murdoch to pull off the save of the season so far, absolutely brilliant.

As per last weekend at halftime,  Rob just encouraged,  encouraged and encouraged to keep pushing.

The second half Radley kept fighting but our midfield and defence superbly gelled together to maintain a clean sheet. Then from 20 yards out, Owen Whalley scored a breathtaking goal directly from a free kick. I’ll say it, Ronaldo would have been proud of it, totally amazing.

Rob, Gaz and l were so impressed with everyone, as they played with their hearts on their sleeves.

Dan Pugh from Faringdon Town FC adults “A” team was asked to chose the player of the match. For the first time ever in the Blue’s history,  Dan awarded the trophy to the whole team as he said it would have been unfair to present it to 1 individual as it had been such an OUTSTANDING team performance.

Next week we’re at Wantage in the cup.
