Faringdon Town were heading to the other side of Bristol for their first away game of 2018. They arrived with a fit, sharp attitude, ready to play to their full potential.
First-half
Tytherington Rocks kicked off the match but within about 10 seconds in Faringdon had the ball. In the first 5-10 minutes, we had great possession, a beautiful touch from James Tranter to regain possession. 12 minutes in and George Hegg makes a great tackle in the box to keep it 0-0. 15 minutes in and Matthew Pill does a great flick on to confuse the goalkeeper to do a pass back in the box. A free kick to James Taylor who hit the wall and the rebound fell back to James Taylor to make it 1-0 Faringdon.
A Great ball from Adam Sly to force a corner. Van der Mortel had a header from that corner, followed by an amazing ball from Dom Wills to James Taylor to make it 2-0. 30 mins in an amazing through ball from Matthew Pill to James Taylor, although he was spot on it didn’t quite hit the back of the net, still, 2-0 short corner from Tranter to Taylor flicked near post but fell to Adam Sly who pulled it back to Taylor to get his hattrick. 3-0
Second-half
2 minutes in Adam Sly skipped past three defenders to put in the near post for James Taylor to head it in the goal 4-0. 4 or 5 times Christian Wills was apparently offside when in my opinion I didn’t see it. 60 mins in and Christian Wills had a near miss, last 10 minutes of the game we were caught on the break and keeper Jack O’Reilly made a sliding hand to keep his clean sheet. Matty White good inception, a clipped ball to Christian Wills, squared to James Tranter who just put it wide. Corner from Christian Wills was just cleared off the line from a header from James Taylor.

We definitely deserved the win, in my opinion the better team by far, using wings as a start of a goal. Well done Lads! – Chloe

Overall it was a superb performance by the whole squad, the conditions were poor and yet we played some really good football. We looked sharp and worked hard as a team for the whole 90 mins, created some good chances and scored some good goals. Concentration was high and the lads defended superbly. Another clean sheet and keeps the momentum going, looking forwards to a big game next week.
