So after nearly 6 weeks without a fixture, the Vets are back in action on Wednesday evening, when they entertain Didcot Town Vets at the Cinder Lane Stadium, kick-off 7.45pm.
The two sides last competitive game was the reverse fixture at the Loop Meadow Stadium in November, with Diddy coming out on top in a fairly disappointing performance from Town Vets in a 3-0 defeat. The two sides occupy the top two positions in the Hellenic Vets Premier Division, however, we have played two games more than our visitors and only lead by a single point. So if we have any intentions of being in the mix towards the end of the season, the lads need to put in a performance against a lot of peoples favourites for the title.
Didcot are currently the leading goalscorers in the division, hitting the net seventeen times in five league fixtures, with their backline being breached on eight occasions. Their form is three victories and two defeats in those league meetings but they are the form side of the division. Leading goalscorers for Diddy are Tommy Larman and Matt Leach with six apiece in all competitions.
Town’s squad has been hit by unavailability and injury, but we have to ensure our unbeaten run in all competitions at Fairford Town remains intact.
Squad From: Lee Ruddle, Andy Lynham, Dave Legg, Chris Pettis, Gary Sutton, Damian Francis, Anthony McCusker, Ben Spencer, Paul Hulme, Pat Graham, Glenn Townsend, Steve Pugh, Troy Redman, Chris Roche, Darryl Pugh, Iain Lawson.
