Following Saturday’s impressive top-of-the-table victory over Purton FC, The Don welcome Stratton Juniors FC to Tucker Park on Tuesday night, kick-off 6.15 pm.
Stratton Juniors FC have been associated with Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League since 2019/2020 season, in the Premier Division before finishing bottom in season 2022/2023 and relegated to Division One for this season. Despite their relegation, they have managed to keep hold of their top goal-scorer Corey Cullen who has managed to hit the target thirty-six times over the last two seasons and is currently top of the charts after five games this season, scoring ten times and keeping our own hotshot, Kyle Bowyer off the top of the pile. Cullen is obviously going to be a threat to the Town backline. Juniors currently sit in ninth position, with two wins (Kingsdown Dev 5-2 & Bishops Cannings 4-2) and three defeats (Pewsey Vale Dev 0-4, Marlborough Town 2-5 & Purton FC 1-5), so they have found the step down in Division challenging so far.
Town are currently the team to beat and whilst this unbeaten run continues, each club we meet will be determined to be the side to knock us out of our stride, so nothing should be taken for granted. Squad news, Harry Platt, Jamie Tuck and Ray Lovell return from their bank holiday unavailability, whilst George James is unavailable and Josh Forth is carrying a knock.
