The Football Club had a number of runners in last weekend’s 2023 TCS London Marathon, who all completed the 26.2-mile race raising much need funds for a number of well-deserved charities.
First over the line was current Vets & Development Team player Darryl Curtis. Darryl was running his first-ever marathon and broke the four-hour barrier with a superb time of 03:49:09.
Following Darryl was under 15’s mum, Angela Bugden who completed the course for the very first time and achieved a time of 03:51:19, which is a ‘Good For Age’ finish. This entitles Angela to an automatic place in the 2024 race.
Third to finish was Head of Senior Football Martin Harries’ wife Sarah. Running her second consecutive London Marathon, she smashed her 2022 time by over 12 minutes with a time of 04:01:08.
And finally, our Head of Youth Development Adam Bradley, who despite picking up a calf injury in the latter stages of the race, still managed a great time of 04:27:28 in his first London Marathon.
The football club would like to say amazing legwork from all four of you and well done on the thousands of pounds raised for charities including The Silver Star Maternity Unit in Oxford and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
