This weekend sees Faringdon Town host its first home game of the 2016/17 season, and what a 1st game it could be! The visitors are Thame Utd from the Hellenic Premier Division for a ‘Bluefin Sport Hellenic Challenge Cup’ 1st round tie. Thame currently sit second in the table, with a record of played 5, won 4 lost 1. Their last fixture saw them run out 8-1 vistors over Oxford City Nomads. So no doubt The Don, will be massive underdogs.
Saturday also see the start of the Reserves league campaign, with a trip to Westminster in the NBFL Div 2. Westminster have finished fifth in the league for the last 2 seasons. Matches bewteen the 2 have always been close affairs. With Faringdon’s new management team and new looking squad, the new season looks promising.
