FTFC held a well attended AGM on Thursday 7th July 2016. President Will Townsend opened by thanking everyone involved for their hard work during the 2015/16 season and wishing all good luck for the forthcoming season. The meeting marked the closing of several era’s, with long time Treasurer Tim Harries standing down and son Martin Harries also announcing he would be stepping down from his Club Secretary role. We thank them both for their hard work and commitment over the many years. Martin is moving on to pastures new and we wish him good luck. Our fabulous tea ladies have also said that time was to be called on their service. Rene Cook and Christine Lovegrove have been magnificent servants to Faringdon Town FC and they will be greatly missed in their kitchen!
As with all clubs, the show must go on. So on to the new committee members, Hannah Francis has agreed to join us as Treasurer, Colin Smith will take on the role as Senior Fixtures Secretary and Mark Crane taking over all of the youth section fixtures. Good luck in your new roles you have big shoes to fill! The role of Club Secreatry is yet to be filled, for the moment jobs will be shared amongst existing committee members.
Two of our 3 teams now have management agreed for the 2016/17 season. The 1st team will see Daryll Curtis continue his good work assisted by Paul Hulme. The A-Team will have a completely new management team, although not new to the club, Stuart Sears and Jason Evans step into the breach, having played for the A Team they already know what to expect. The search continues for a Reserve manager, we hope this will be resolved by the start of the season.
