We have more midweek action for The Don faithful, as we make the reasonably short journey to old North Berks Football League members, Lambourn Sports, the home of everything horse racing.
Kick-off is scheduled for 6.15 pm on the excellent playing service at Bockhampton Road, as Town look to continue their impressive start to life in the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior Division One.
Sports are also new to the league this season, having moved across from North Berks Division Two, where they finished mid-table. However, they have high hopes with Dan Broadbank in charge, assisted by his father Rob, who were previously the management team at Shrivenham FC in uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division. Life in the Wilts has not been plain sailing so far, having been on the end of two heavy defeats to Park United (5-1) and Devizes Town Reserves (6-0) and will be hoping to bounce back and find some form against The Don.
Town are currently sitting proudly at the top of the table; however, everyone within the club knows it’s very early days are no result is a foregone conclusion. With three league wins, thirteen goals scored, and none conceded, the squad’s confidence is visibly growing with each performance. This has made squad selection a headache for the management, but it’s one they are relishing.
