Town Vets are back to league action on Wednesday 14th March 2018, when they travel to Milton Utd to face Goring Utd in Hellenic Veterans Division One. Kick off at Potash Lane (Map: https://goo.gl/maps/5Y7W1FyQ7KR2) is 7.45pm.
Town currently sit top of the table and the squad are in high spirits after their cup quarter-final victory over Premier league side, Thame Utd on penalties and a 2-1 league victory over promotion hopefuls Oxford City A. Town have an impressive record in the league with 9 victories, 1 draw and 1 defeat which came on the opening day of the season. Town have scored 28 and conceded only 11 league goals. The home side currently sit in 7th position, with 9 points from their 13 league fixtures with two wins, 3 draws and 8 defeats so far scoring 15 goals and conceding 28. Top scorer for United is Ian McBean who has scored 7 goals in 16 league and cup ties.
The two sides met at Radcot Road in September with Town taking an early two-goal lead, before conceding a penalty on the stroke of half-time, which United duly converted. The second period was very tight, but Town held onto the three points, with Colin Yates and Gary Sutton notching the goals. Currently on an unbeaten run of 15 league and cup games, we know we have to be at our best to keep the run going and put pressure on the chasing teams if we wish to pick up the league championship trophy with the home side looking to cause an upset, which they are more than capable of, proven when taking points of Town title contenders Witney Royals.
