Weekend Preview 4/3/17 – Faringdon Town Football Club

The First Team are not in action until Tuesday evening, matches at home for Reserves and A-Team on Saturday.

The First Team, travel to Oxford City Nomads Dev on Tuesday for a 7.45pm kick-off. Nomads are 1 point and 1 postion above Faringdon after a 4-1 victory over Shrivenham Res last week. The Don, are looking to take 3 points and jump above their rivals. A hard fought draw against Brimscombe (report here) last weekend has helped them open a gap of 5 points from the teams below. This will the 1st meeting of the teams this season. Nomads have won 6 of their 14 games, drawing 1 and losing 7 in the league. Henry Landers tops scores with 11 goals from 14. Jordan Wilkins and Christian Wills top the charts for the Don with 5 each.

Faringdon Town Reserves are finally back in action, after a couple of weeks without a fixture. Dorchester are the visitors to Tucker Park. Dorchester have seen a bit of a revival recently, winning 2 of their last 4 games. This has helped them up to 7th in the league with 13 points. Jordan Lyle has been their main goal threat with 6 goals. Jamie Boradfield has 4 goals from 13 games. Town were unable to field a team for the last scheduled fixture. The Ressers will feel points are possible, and with home adavantage will be pulling out all the stops to add to their total.

Faringdon Town A-Team are also in action at Tucker Park. They take on Uffington Res in their final home fixture of the season. The A’s gained another 3 points last week with a fine 4-1 victory over Marchams Res, for the second week running (report here). Two wins and a draw in their last 3 games have seen the A’s rise to 4th with 30 points. With well over 30 goals in the last 6 games, the A’s and the crowd will be hoping fo another goal fest! The 51 goals from 19 games has seen 17 different scorers, with Jason Evans on 6.
