Faringdon Town Weekend Preview – 11/2/17
All three senior teams in action this weekend. The FTFC management will be using all their magic to make sure 3 strong squads are available for the fixtures. Just 3 games for our youth section this week as its half-term.
The First team are on the road again this week, taking on league leaders Moreton Rangers in the Bluefin Sport Hellenic Supplementary Cup. The ‘Don finally got 2017 of to a start last weekend with a 2-1 victory at Hook Norton Res. Goals from Liam Tudway and Ross Packham secured a tricky win. (full match report here). Moreton are going strong having not lost in 6 games. Last week drawing 1-1 with Brinscome & Thrupp Res. Lee Brookes is top scorer with 27 from 18 games. (away 2.15pm KO).
The Reserves have a home fixture verses Hanney United. The Ressers didn’t have a game last weekend, their last runout was a 5-2 lose to Harwell. Hanney won 3-0 against Stevenon last week, taking them to 4th in the league on 15pts. The Reserves sit bottom of the league at the moment, but recent results have been showing promise. The A-Team are also at home and will be looking to get back on track after a narrow lose last week (full match report here). Bottom side Cumnor Minors are the visitors to Tucker Park. Cumnor have struggled this season, with 2 wins from their 14 games. They lost 4-0 to Coleshill Reserves last time out. The A’s have been showing good form lately. With strong performances from Jack Green and James Tyler proving a real bonus. Jack scored 2 last week, with Tyler potting 2 and assisting 2 the previous week.
