Faringdon Town FC – Weekend Preview 28/1/17 –

All 3 senior teams are back in action, after losing all games to the weather last week.

The First team travel to Brimscombe & Thrupp Res, in a Hellenic Div 2 West league game. Brimscombe won the reverse fixture 3-1 back in October. Jordon Wilkins scoring the Faringdon goal. Brimscombe sit a couple of places avove the ‘Don in 7th on 18 points from their twelve league games. Brimscombe drew their last game against Oxford City Nomads Dev. 3-3 on the 14th Jan. Its been a long time sice the boys last played, so management will be hoping all the training sessions have kept them fit and sharp. George Blythe is top scorer on 8 from 13 starts, Jordan Wilkins & Dom Wills share that spot for Faringdon with 5 apiece. (away 3.00pm KO)

The Reserves are way to Harwell Village in a NBFL Div 2 fixture. Recent results have seen the Ressers drop to the foot of the table. Harwell lost to Steventon 5-1 last week in one of the few games that wasn’t last to the freezing weather. They currently sit mid-table on 10 points from 7 games. Paul Powell is their leading goal scorer with 9 ffrom 13 league and cup games. Jamie Broadfield top scores for the ‘Don with 4 from 11 starts. (away 2.00pm KO)

The A-Team are the only senior home team this week, with Sutton Courtenay Reserves visiting Tucker Park. The A’s result against table topping Wallingford Town A, was no-doubt their best result of the season so far. A 3-1 victory with goals from Liam Farmer, James Tyler and Seb Kocopziyczyk, saw them move to 22 league points. Sutton sit 8th on 11 points after drawing their last fixture 4-4 with Marcham Res. Top scorer Jason Evans (4 from 10) is unavailable this week, due to a late ‘Work Xmas Party Shopping Trip’. Stand-in manager Simon Harrington, will be working hard to make sure the rest of the squad are ready in his absence!! (home 2.00pm KO)
