WEEKEND PREVIEW – 17/12/16
On the last weekend before Christmas, Faringdon Town entertain local rivals Shrivenham Reserves at Tucker Park (2pm KO). Buoyant from Monday nights result against Kidlington Res, the Don will be looking to add another 3 points to their league tally. A great performance saw the Don win 3-2 with Matty Pill, Chris Wills and Sam Gorham finding the back of the net.
Shrivenham haven’t played a league match for a month and currently sit second bottom of the league, having played just 8 games. Last week they lost 4-0 to Abingdon United Res in the Cup, and before that narrowly missing out to Hurst Reserves 10-9 on penalties also in the Cup.
As with all local derby’s form can be thrown out of the window, nothing but another committed performance will be needed to collect the points.
The Reserves are also in action, with an away trip to Dorchester for a 2pm KO. Dorchester have also been finding life difficult in league 2. So this is another six-pointer. Dorchester sit one place and one point below the Ressers so it will be all to play for! Manager Matt Willis be looking for the more of the committment shown by the squad last week, but with some goals thrown into the mix aswell.
