FTFC earn a creditable draw against high flying Summertown United following a much improved second half performance.
The first half was mainly one-way traffic and from an FTFC perspective the wrong way! In fact FTFC were their own worst enemy when every time they picked up the ball they managed to lose it very quickly. Summertown took the lead when the ball was lost out wide. A good cross picked out the Summertown striker who finished well.
FTFC did however keep the score to one and following a half-time ‘Clauson/Heffernan team talk’ came out fighting on the second half. Summertown did create the first goal scoring opportunity of the half but the shot was well over the bar. FTFC began creating chances but the illusive finishing touch was missing. The equaliser finally came when Charlie saw a long range shot smack of the inside of the post where Tom was waiting to poke the rebound into the net.
