Town 1st Team put in a much improved performance at home to champions and current leaders Berinsfield FC, despite losing 5-3 at Tucker Park.

Rich Evans, Adam Sly and a Robbie Harrington penalty saw Town battle back from 5-1 down at half time after defending against the strong winds in the opening half.

The Reserves faced all sorts of selection issues leading up to their trip to league leaders and local opponents Stanford ITV in NBFL Division 2. With three players dropping out in the morning and already with output a keeper, the A Team fixture was cancelled and some of the lads stepped up to play out of their skins and gain a creditable 0-0 draw, with stand in keeper Glenn Townsend outstanding.

Due to the lack of players throughout the club this week, the late decision to cancel the A Team’s trip to Kennington Athletic was made. We apologise to Kennington and the league for this situation.

Our under 8’s found the finals of their Trophy Event tough, but still competed well against sides who have been playing for a considerable amount of time previously.

The under 10’s claimed the first silverware of the seasons by winning their Trophy Event at Oxford Academy. Well done to James Gough and the squad, which was put together very late into the summer, so this victory is very impressive.

the under 12’s made it two wins from two games, with a 4-0 victory on the road at Botley Boys. The hosts were sitting in the top half of the division, so this win for third bottom Town should be a major confidence boost.

The remaining sides were either without a fixture or games were cancelled due to the awful weekend weather.
