Its a short review of weekend Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th October, due to the youth’s having one match and the seniors failing to score!
The under 8’s were the only youth side in action over the weekend on Saturday morning, when they traveled to Wantage Youth. Having only five players hindered them due to the half term break, but they battled hard, finally losing but will take heart from the performance.
The 1st Teams waiting to lift the North Berks Cup goes on for another season, as they saw missed early chances go begging against NBFL Division 3 side Hungerford Swifts, finally losing 1-0. The wait will now go into season 35!
The Reserves were made to pay for a poor first half performance at home to Hanney United as they found themselves 2-0 down at the half time break. Town did improve in the second period but failed to really test the visiting keeper as the score remained 2-0 in NBFL Division 2.
The youthful A Team traveled to the land of horses, Lambourn Sports Reserves in NBFL Division 4 and acquitted themselves very well against an experienced side who included a striker who was player Hellenic League Premier football two weeks ago. The side lost 2-0 with 17year old debutant Joe Weatherall impressing.
