Weekend Preview 30th September 2017

Faringdon Town welcome league newcomers Newent Town to Tucker Park on Saturday for a 3 pm kick-off. The Reserves take the short trip to Stanford for a Charity Shield tie. No game for the A-Team this week.

The Don team play Newent Town for the 1st time in a Hellenic Div 2 clash. The visitors have won 3 of their 4 league games this season. Their most recent result was a 1-0 victory over Clanfield 85 Dev, with Patrick Gibbs grabbing the winner. Newents only defeat was against Caterton (3-0).

Faringdon kept their unbeaten run going last week with a 1-1 draw against Moreton Rangers. James Tranter netting with a header. Highworth Town Res took advantage of the dropped points to go top of the league.

Faringdon Town Reserves have a short trip to Stanford in the Vale for a Charity Shield game. Stanford were promoted to NBFL Div 1 this season and have so far lost 2 of their 3 games. Conceding 13 whilst netting 6. The Ressers have had a tough draw in the Charity Shield having lost to Saxton 1st Team last week 10-0.
