Weekend Preview – Saturday 17th February 2024

After a complete wash out last weekend, the club hope all three senior sides can get back to action on Saturday, especially at Tucker Park where a healthy crowd is expected as we celebrate Ex-Players of the club at our Reunion Day.

The visitors to Tucker Park in Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League Division One is Bratton FC, who have so far had an amazing season, having reached the Wiltshire FA County Cup Final. Bratton currently sit in sixth position, with nine victories, one draw and two defeats from their twelve Division One league ties to date. They currently sit eleven points adrift of second position The Don, but with four games in hand.

The visitors are not afraid to find the back of the net, having scored fifty-one goals in those twelve fixtures, and conceded only twenty. Drew Adams leads their goalscoring charts with 14 from 11 games, closely followed by Jack Booth with a goal a game from 10 ties.

This could be seen as a promotion six pointer and The Don will be hoping to perform in front of so many ex-Town legends from many decades of club history. Kick off at Tucker Park is 13:00, clubhouse is open from 12:00 and the ex-player celebrations will continue throughout the afternoon and evening. We thank Bratton FC and the Wiltshire Senior League for their flexibility in having this tie at Tucker Park.

The squad for this weekend is from: Harry Timbrell, George James, Matt Pill, Pete Fletcher, Adam Sly, Liam Hares, Ray Lovell, Kyle Bowyer, Jack Gibson, Harry Platt, Jamie Broadfield, Josh Forth, Sam Leech, Luke Davenport, Will Bazen.

The Don are sponsored by (Home Shirt) The Snooty MehmaanThe Advertiser Magazine & Pickpackplus & (Away Shirt) & and we thank them for their continued support.

With last weekends fixture falling foul of the weather, Town Devs found themselves dropping one place in the  Hartwell sponsored Witney & District League Division Two as Yarnton A grabbed three points with a 4-2 away win at Bourton Rovers Reserves.

This Saturday Robbie Harrington will take his squad to Kingham All Blacks, looking to climb up the table and continue with their promotion push. Tenth placed Kingham have gained twelve points so far this season after a disciplinary adjustment, with two victories, four draws and eight defeats from fourteen league ties. Leading goalscorer for the All Blacks is Mitchell Faulkner who has notched six in nine league games.

Kick off at the village sports field is 14:00 and directions can be found here.

Town Dev’s kindly sponsored by J Godfrey & Son Funeral Services & Las Chicas Faringdon, their support is amazing and we can’t thank them enough.

The A Team are also on the road, however only over the River Thames at Clanfield (85) FC where the will face current the Hartwell sponsored Witney & District League Division Three league leaders Deer Park Rangers.

The hosts have so far amassed twelve victories, one draw and just the single defeat from their fourteen league games. Town in twelfth position face an almighty challenge to gain something from the game, however 2024 has seen an upturn in performance and results. The man to fear in the Rangers frontline is Cullen Angus who has notched twenty goals in ten appearances, helping the hosts to fifty-six league goals and conceding just fourteen.

Kick off at Radcot Road Ground is 14:00 and directions are available here.
