Our first game for a couple of weeks and potentially touch and go if it was on. The pitch thawed lovely and we were ok to go ahead.
After our good win last week, Town were keen to carry on the momentum. We had beat our opponents 4-0 on the opening day of the season so knew if we could do the right things we would give ourselves a good chance.
Match Report Faringdon Town vs Easington Sports – 18th November – 2.15pm
Town welcomed struggling Easington Sports to Tucker Park looking to end their run of no wins in seven. We spoke before the game about asserting our authority over a team which we enjoyed a comfortable win early on in the Season.
Faringdon Town went to Carterton knowing it was going to be a tough game but we’re keen to put in a good performance. The pitch looked stunning and we wanted to get back to winning ways.
The Vets welcomed Premier League side Chinnor B to Clanfield (85) FC’s Radcot Road Ground, in the 2nd Group D match of this seasons Veterans Challenge Cup. The Vets went into the match on a run of three victories over Woodley Utd Vets (League 4-1), Goring Utd Vets (League 3-1) & Woodley Utd Vets (Cup 2-0), so were full of confidence.
Faringdon Town entertained Didcot Town Res in the Berks and Bucks Senior Trophy, a different challenge from our previous weeks wins in the league. With the momentum we’d built-up we were keen to carry it on and felt a good result against higher league opposition was a possibility.
