Match Preview – Wednesday 13th February 2019 – Faringdon Town Vets v Aylesbury Vets

The weather gods appear to finally be on the Vets side, with the long anticipated Hellenic Veterans Cup quarter final with Aylesbury Vets taking place tonight at the Cinder Lane Stadium. Kick off at the home of Fairford Town is 7.45pm.

The two sides compete in the Premier Division and have met in the league back in November, when they played out a 1-1 stalemate, Town falling behind after missing a penalty, before skipper Gary Sutton claimed the equaliser after the half time break. The visitors are currently third in the division whilst Town sit fourth, both on ten points but with Town having played two fixtures more. Aylesbury’s main goal threat is from Steve Perry, who has notched four goals in as many games, whilst Town will hope Paul Smith can start finding his goalscoring boots after a couple of games without finding the net.

Due to injury, illness and work commitments the squad is missing a few bodies but a full bench is still a possibility. Liam Humphries will be looking to make his debut after turning 35 at the weekend. Spikes Diner and Bar are open from 7.00pm, so come along and support the lads tonight.

Town Squad from: Lee Ruddle, Garry Sutton, Damian Francis, Dave Legg, Paul Smith, Terry Dearing, Colin Yates, Nick Wojcik, Chris Roche, Liam Humphries, Steve Pugh, Iain Lawson, Paul Hulme, Anthony McCusker, Andy Lynham, Troy Redman
