Match Preview – Town open league campaign with ‘Derby’

Following last weekends encouraging opening hour against Uhlsport Hellenic Premier side Brimscombe & Thrupp, Town are back in action on Friday night with a short trip along the A420 to Barrington Park, the home of Shrivenham Development.

The sides have both been in the lower reaches of Division Two West since Town’s introduction to Hellenic football in season 2016/2017. Town have the upper hand in results, with three victories and three draws between the two sides in their previous six meetings. However, these games are always tight, often separated by only the odd goal.

One thing we can guarantee is that the Shrivenham Development squad will be mainly teenagers, looking to make their opening steps in senior football and the club should be congratulated with this pathway for their youngsters. Town will have a number of changes to there squad of 16, with Joe Hoskin, Dan Courtney, Justin Yates & Sean Creeley all back in contention from last weekend, with all of the squad taking part in a very positive training session on Tuesday.

Kickoff at Barrington Park is 7.45pm, Admission prices will be £3.00 and £1 for concessions. All ‘Don’ support would be gratefully received by the Town management and squad.
