Sat 13th March 2010 - Squads & Review - Town Host Semi Final

1st Team v Warborough - AWAY 2.30 kick off - Division 1 - Meet 12.30 Travis Perkins

Squad: M Kelly, A Sly, M Pill, G Sutton, C Benson, J Lovegrove, D Curtis, D Harrington, P Soane, M Hathaway, S Aley, S Wright, M Francis

It's back to league action for the 1st Team this week, with a trip to pointless Warborough. Town overcame the hosts earlier in the season at Tucker Park 6-1 in September. Warborugh have found it tough this season but last weeks defeat by the odd goal in 3 against Harwell Village will have given them some belief. Town are on a high after last weeks dramatic victory over Saxton Rovers in the Charity Shield and with the semi final next weekend, the squad are challenging for places. Town also need to get their league form back on track after consecutive 1-0 defeats. Keeper Chris Webb (holiday & rib injury) is replaced by the experienced Mike Kelly, whilst Dan Courtney (Holiday) is also unavailable. Martin Francis comes back into the squad.

Reserves v Benson Lions - AWAY 2.30 kick off - Division 3 - Meet 12.30 Travis Perkins

Squad: R Curtis, G Townsend, L Ruddle, S Pugh, J Berry, R Edwards, B Spencer, M Hickson, B Ferris, R Evans, G Higgs, L Humphries, R Sharpes

The Reserves face a major obstacle in their quest for Division 3 promotion when they travel to Benson Lions at the RAF base. The two side battled out a 2-2 draw earlier in the season and Town will need to improve greatly on last weeks victory of the Lions Reserve side to reach the Kingham Cup semi finals. Town are currently top with Lions in sixth, only six points behind and with three games in hand. With Hanney Utd and Sutton Courtney to play over the next two weeks, this is a big fixture for the promotion places. Rich Evans comes in from the 1st Team bench and Greg higgs is included after being cup tied last week. 16 year old Ryan Sharpes is included on the bench after impressing for the A Team and Ryan Curtis covers the goalkeeper position.

A Team - No Fixture

Please note that there is a football match at Tucker Park this Saturday with the semi final of the Nairne Paul Trophy between Marcham Reserves and Shrivenham A - 2.30pm kick off.
