After last weeks tough cup game Town faced another tough cup game against old rivals Saxton Rovers. Having played them a couple of months ago in the Thursday Cup and being beaten 6-0 we were looking to show progression.
As a first-team Town are entered into the Bluefin Sports (UHL) Challenge Cup and came up against Hellenic Premiership side Lydney Town. A long trip, but a chance for a break from the league.
With Town unbeaten leading into this match, we knew this would be a different proposition having been beaten 3 times by Moreton last season and knew it would be tough.
Faringdon Town entertained Didcot Town Res in the Berks and Bucks Senior Trophy, a different challenge from our previous weeks wins in the league. With the momentum we’d built-up we were keen to carry it on and felt a good result against higher league opposition was a possibility.
Town welcomed local rivals Shrivenham Reserves to Tucker Park looking to build upon their 100% start to the league campaign. The pitch was looking great before the game and the lads looked up for it during the warm-up.
With two wins behind us the lads seemed confident and keen for this game, another win would give us the perfect start to our campaign.
