A very sunny but breezy day for the start of the new season and FTFC’s first match was a tricky away game at Kidlington Colts. Playing with the slope and with the wind behind them FTFC took full advantage with an excellent first half performance.
Town have a new youth side this season. The Under 9’s who will be competing in the Oxford Mail Boys League and are therefore looking for players and a kit sponsor. The side will be run by senior 1st Team players, Chris Benson, Matty Pill and Josh Forth.
Faringdon Town U11’s won their 7th league game in a row on Sunday beating Drayton Wasps 4-1. This keeps the team in the hunt for a runners-up spot. The goals came from Tommy Tew (2), Mac Goves and Dominic Allum with Man of the Match Samuel Adcock.
The U15’s secured their first league win of the season with a battling 2-1 victory over fellow strugglers Hinksey Park. First half goals from Louis Butler and a bullet from Liam Ridley secured the points that lifts them off the bottom of the table. For full report see U15 match reports.
Faringdon Town U11’s continued on their impressive recent run with a well earned and hard fought 4-3 win over Greater Leys. 2 goals each from Dominic Allum and Luke McIntyre plus some excellent defending from everyone and goal keeping from Josh Dawson secured the win which cements their 2nd position in the table . Faringdon Town Football Club are looking to run an Under 8’s open training session for boys and girls. We have two managers, Chris Benson & Matty Pill who are looking to run the side who are currently 1st Team players and also carry the relevant FA Coaching Badges.
