After a five-week festive and new year break, the Vets are back in action on Thursday, when they travel to Abingdon Town FC, to play Goring Old Boys in Hellenic Veterans League One.
Kick off at Culham Road is 7.45pm and Town Vets will hope to push on from their excellent first half of the season, which see’s them sitting on top of the table, two points clear and with a game in hand on 2nd placed Witney Royals. The squad did meet up last Friday for a quick run about at the Leisure Centre to run off the Turkey and Xmas Pudding…
Old Boys are currently in 5th position with two victories, two draws and five defeats in their league campaign, scoring 7 and conceding 28. Joint top goalscorers are Rob Denham & Martin Neagus with two goals apiece. Town go into this fixture with two new signings hoping to make an impact, with Ben Spencer and Anthony McCusker both increasing the depth of the squad for the run in as Town look to continue their good league and cup form.
